Operation Cast Lead
I bet many people are wondering what is going on in Israel and in Ghaza Strip.
Last Saturday, IDF (Israeli defence Force) attacked in Ghaza, causing hundreds of casualties and injured.
Most of the victims of this operation in Ghaza were Hamas militants.
The structures bombed were weapon warehouses, workshops and homes of terrorists.
Only few of the victims were civilians. This is a war between armies, and has nothing against civilians.
"Operation Cast Lead" has started after a long time when Hamas' militants bombed Israeli cities,
and Israel didn't react. It was a hard decision to make, because Israel knows how strong it is
and what damage it is capable of doing. That's why the operation is very focused on Hamas' militants.
As expected, Hamas is striking back by going on bombing Israeli cities,
and this time the bombing is more massive and further away from the border with Ghaza Strip.
Before the operation has begun, Israel had offered a cease-fire, and Hamas objected.
Hamas is one of the organisations protesting against Israel's occupation of Palestinian land.
Three years ago, Israel has evacuated all of its settlements and military forces from Ghaza Strip,
apparently leaving Hamas no reason to protest or attack Israel.
I believe that most Israelis and most Palestinians just want to make a living in safety and security,
and don't mind that the land is shared between Jews and Arabs, as long as we live in peace.
I wish that the state of war will be over,
and the leaders of both Israel and the Palestinians will be able to negotiate and talk about peace.

To the coment above me: Most of the victims are still militants, but when they use women and children as human shields, what do you expect?

more than half the dead os where children and women. Do you call those hamas and terrorists?
