Why I Hate Smokers

Why I Hate Smokers Usually I don't easily hate a person, especially if I hardly know his personality, but I tend to hate people who smoke. Of course there are exceptions, but still many of these people make me mad. I'll explain why.
  • Smokers damage not only their own health, but also the health of the people surrounding them. I don't care what one does with his own health, but I care about mine.
  • The smoke has a bad smell I absolutely can't resist. It makes me feel I can't breathe. There are smokers that don't realize that the smoke is uncomfortable for others. They'll just turn on a cigarette as if it was the most pleasant habit in the world, and in the better case they'll hope that the wind will take the smoke to the other direction (rather than my direction).
  • After one finished his cigarette, he still has and leaves behind a bad smell. The smell comes from his breath and from his cloths. Again, I think this smell is absolutely irresistible. I used to have a coworker who went outside the building to smoke, and after he came back to the office – the bad smell was left in the elevator.
  • These people's addiction to smoking makes them think they need to smoke. They get distressed when they "need" a cigarette and they don't have one. Being so worried about such an unnecessary thing makes them look so stupid!
  • Most people who smoke eventually quit smoking, or at least wish to quit. That means that almost everybody gets to the conclusion that smoking is unreasonable and bad. If so, why start smoking in the first place?
  • At work, workers who smoke tend to take more breaks than non smokers, because they need time to smoke. Why do they deserve more breaks than others? I deserve the same amount of time in breaks as everybody else.
  • In many countries in the world, there is a law which forbids smoking in public areas. Many smokers protest against this law, because they claim they have a right to smoke. I think they do have a right to smoke – in their homes. Definitely not next to me. I have the right to breathe fresh air, and I don't think I need to limit myself because of that.
